My Idea

I have come up with four ideas, I have chosen to do The Dream as I think it is the most practical and will be the most effective in a short film. I also think for this idea I can take a lot of elements I have learnt through research and apply them to my own production.
Treatment
Research:
I will be going to a group where we will all put our ideas forward and pick the one we think will be the most successful. If we where to pick this idea I would create a survey to get more research on the short film and overall if it would be successful and who the main audience would be. At the end of the film I expect the audience to all have a smile on their face as the short film is very happy and positive and a typical romance. The short film would be entertainment with it’s happy flow and the use of a song within it to make it very bouncy and happy. I have done research on all sorts of short films which have a wide variety, my main inspiration is Lady Gaga’s music video Paparazzi as the music video has been created into a short film through the use of dialogue and the lyrics telling a story.
Concept:
This short film will have a very simple and typical concept. The underlying meaning of it is the dream that a girl always has and decisions that people have to make in their life’s. The music industry is huge and everyone loves some sort of music, by bringing this into my short film it will expand the target audience and how a short film can be viewed.
Synopsis of the story:
Every girl has a dream of what there husband will be like and how there life will pan out in the future. He’ll be fun, gorgeous, amazing and the man you want to spend the rest of your life with right? Well Livy is in a serious relationship and has been with him three years today. Matt her boyfriend is trying his hardest to make this the perfect night for her and he has a little surprise up his sleeve. As he prepares the house for her, putting candles everywhere and rose petals on the floor to make it as romantic as he can he is getting ready to ask Livy to marry him. A huge step for any girl, and she has no idea. As Livy walks down the driveway looking her best for Matt on their three years, she is oblivious to anything and just thinks that he has cooked a romantic meal for her. As she walks through the door oblivious to everything asking when tea would be ready and puts her bag down, Matt is stood there with a huge grin on his face. Straight away she knows that he is up to something. As he goes down onto one knee and looks up at her he asks Livy to marry him. In complete shock Livy looks down on him and is speechless. Everything goes through her head, all the times they’ve argued and how he can drive her up the wall. Then the times they’ve been so happy with each other and so deeply in love. Was Matt the dream that she always had since she was a young girl? Her head is spinning with different thoughts before blurting out I will!
As well as dialogue there will be a song in the short film. These are the lyrics:
You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now ... here he comes!

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentleman
Like you imagined when you were young

Can we climb this mountain
I don't know
Higher now than ever before
I know we can make it if we take it slow
Let's take it easy
Easy now, watch it go

We're burning down the highway skyline
On the back of a hurricane that started turning
When you were young
When you were young

And sometimes you close your eyes
and see the place where you used to live
When you were young

They say the devil's water, it ain't so sweet
You don't have to drink right now
But you can dip your feet
Every once in a little while

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now here he comes

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentleman
Like you imagined when you were young
(He talks like a gentlemen, like you imagined when)
When you were young

I said he doesn't look a thing like Jesus
He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But more than you'll ever know
